How We Helped the University of Mount Union Share Student Stories

When the University of Mount Union wanted to highlight why students choose their school, they turned to us to help tell those stories. The goal? Capture authentic, engaging student testimonials that would inspire prospective students to become a purple raider. 🎥 Watch the full set of Mount Union student testimonials here.


The Goal

Produce five 60-90 second student testimonial videos that showcase the real experiences of Mount Union students, and create 15-second versions for Hulu advertising to reach a wider audience.


Our Game Plan

  • Pre-Production Planning: We mapped out interview questions to get genuine, compelling answers and scouted campus locations to find the perfect backdrops for each story.

  • Filming Over Three Days: The shoot was spread across three days to accommodate student schedules and capture a variety of settings across campus.

  • Interview + B-Roll Pairing: Each testimonial paired the student’s story with high-quality b-roll — shots of campus life, class activities, and candid moments — to make the videos visually engaging and relatable.

  • Multiple Versions for Multiple Platforms: Along with full-length testimonial videos, we edited 15-second Hulu spots to give Mount Union attention-grabbing, short-form content for their ad campaign.



Lessons Learned

  • Plan the story before the shoot: Having clear questions and shot lists keeps production smooth.

  • Think multi-platform. Shooting with both long-form and short-form content in mind maximizes the value of each interview.



By the end of the project, Mount Union had a powerful set of videos ready to inspire future students and a concise ad campaign to spread that message far and wide.
