At Cleveland Video Company, we’re incredibly grateful for projects that go beyond marketing and truly make an impact. One of those projects was working with GiGi’s Playhouse in Cleveland, Ohio. An organization dedicated to empowering individuals with Down syndrome through free educational, therapeutic, and career-focused programs.
GiGi’s Playhouse is a place of joy, confidence, and community. Their mission is simple but powerful: change the way the world views Down syndrome, and give every individual the opportunity to thrive. We had the honor of helping them tell that story through video.
The Goal: Refresh Their Story and Support Their Mission
GiGi’s Playhouse came to us with two clear goals:
Update their About Us video, which had not been refreshed in several years
Create a donor sponsorship video they could use to connect with supporters and grow funding for their programs - Watch the video here
They wanted content that felt authentic, hopeful, and celebratory. Most importantly, they wanted their videos to reflect how positive, welcoming, and impactful their community truly is.
The Game Plan: Interviews, Real Moments, and Purposeful Storytelling
To bring their story to life, we took a thoughtful, multi-day approach:
Conducted four in-depth interviews with key voices from GiGi’s Playhouse
Filmed across three separate visits to capture real programs in action
Focused heavily on B-roll of genuine moments, including kids learning, laughing, and building confidence

The Heart of the Project: More Than Just a Video
One of the most meaningful parts of this project was seeing how GiGi’s Playhouse reframes the narrative around Down syndrome. Their programs don’t focus on limitations. They focus on strengths, independence, and community.
Through the About Us video, we helped them share their mission with families who may not yet know these free resources exist. Through the donor video, we helped them clearly communicate why support matters and how donors directly impact lives.
The GiGi’s Playhouse team was excited, grateful, and proud to share the videos across their website, social media, and donor outreach.

Lessons Learned: Video as a Tool for Community Impact
Projects like this reinforce why video matters:\
Video helps nonprofits educate and inspire at the same time
Authentic stories build trust and emotional connection
Strong visuals can help organizations grow awareness, donors, and community support
This wasn’t just about making something that looked good. It was about creating something that helps families feel welcomed and supported.

Looking Ahead
We’re honored to have played a small role in helping GiGi’s Playhouse Cleveland spread their message and continue building a strong, inclusive community. If you’re a nonprofit or organization in Northeast Ohio looking to tell a meaningful story through video, we’d love to help.
